Welcome to the Patriarch Production Blog. I’m Mikhail P. Schalk (writer, author, artist, director extraordinaire).
My purpose for this blog is to showcase the production of The Last Patriarch, a feature-length animated film I’ve been working on for some time, and other independent projects in the landscape of cinema. I’ll be needing the help of able-bodied artists to bring Patriarch to theaters and I’ll be documenting the process right here every step of the way (aside from those juicy production secrets I can’t share until its finished… the plot… certain elements of the sets and characters… that sorta stuff… -but don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of things to see and read about on here)
I also have a plethora of other projects and scripts in the works as well so I’ll be using this blog to post about those as well. This’ll pretty much be your one-stop shop for everything Mikhail P. Schalk.
I may from time to time post movie reviews or general articles on film-making, storytelling, writing, animation, and technical tutorials for computer graphics artists, but my projects will likely keep me very busy and I won’t actually have all that much time to spend posting such silly things so those’ll be far and few between. I’ll guarantee they’ll be worth the read/(watch?listen?) though when I do
